AWS Account ID Best Practices

Tracebit published an article that describes how to find the AWS Account ID associated with an S3 bucket.

This is scary. While your account ID isn’t considered a secret like a password or access key, keeping it confidential from the public is highly recommended.

Attackers can’t do anything just with your AWS Account ID. But it can provide ways for them to gather more information about your organization’s AWS resources.

It’s best practice to share your account ID only with trusted entities that you do business with.
